We offer universities an online proctored mathematics test to manage incoming (international) student influx. This test is used to show that the student has a mastery of basic mathematics sufficient to be eligible for enrollment.

How it works:

- We offer two different types of tests. OMPT-A is a good fit with e.g. management and economics programs. OMPT-B fits well with e.g. econometrics and STEM programs. These certified tests, compiled with the help from experts in higher education.
- Students can take the test online at their convenience, choosing both time and location.
- To make sure there’s no cheating, tests are remotely proctored. Students will be guided by a real person during the set-up. They are asked to show their ID and room before the test starts, and are monitored by their webcam during the entire exam. Screen activities are also recorded.
- These recordings are checked for fraud both automatically through a sophisticated algorithm, and manually within 24 hours.
- We offer additional online mathematics courses which help students prepare for the test. 83% of students who took the test during the summer of 2018 had access to OMPT practice materials. On average, students made 888 exercises
- If students do not pass the test, they can re-take the test a maximum of 2 times (unless the university states otherwise). Resit attempts have to be purchased separately..
- Admission & international offices who participate will receive a certificate with the student's test results. They can decide their own minimum passing grade and the window in which students can take the test.
- OMPT will provide universities with their own online portal, where they can find more detailed information on every student such as score breakdown on topic, number attempts, score per attempt. This way, universities can easily verify students’ score.

How it helps:

- Students can take the test in their home country/state.
- The test is easily accessible for students.
- Universities don't have to organize their own test.
- All test-related questions will be directed to SOWISO, instead of the university.
- Because this is a standardized test, all issues regarding privacy and security will be handled by SOWISO. As an EU-based company, we operate according to European privacy laws.
